Sült Kolbász is a simple Hungarian dish made by roasting paprika-seasoned sausage until browned and juicy. It is commonly served with fresh bread, mustard, potatoes, or pickles.

Ingredients
- 500–600 g Hungarian-style fresh sausage
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon Hungarian sweet paprika, optional
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, lightly crushed
- Black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, optional
To Serve
- Fresh bread
- Mustard
- Pickles or sauerkraut
- Roasted or boiled potatoes
Instructions
1. Prepare the Sausage
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Place the sausages in a baking dish. Add the sliced onion and crushed garlic around them.
Brush lightly with oil and sprinkle with a little paprika and black pepper if desired.
2. Roast
Pour a small amount of water into the bottom of the dish.
Roast for approximately 35–45 minutes, turning the sausages once halfway through cooking.
Continue roasting until the sausage is fully cooked and nicely browned.
3. Finish
Remove the baking dish from the oven and allow the sausages to rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
4. Serve
Serve the roasted kolbász hot with fresh bread, mustard, pickles, sauerkraut, or potatoes.
